His paternal grandparents, William Schaefer and Elizabeth Hushoff Schaefer, as well as his daughter Christine Schaefer and siblings Henry Schaefer and Mary Stump, all died before his death. His children, Steven William Schaefer (Michele) of Ohio and Nancy Anne Rogers (Troy) of Washington, as well as his wife, Nancy Lack Schaefer, will continue on his legacy after his death. Nancy Lack Schaefer will also carry on his legacy. He left behind not only his children, but also grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.
