Westwood Lake Death, 19 Year Old VIU Student has Died, Police Say

Westwood Lake Death – Death at Westwood Lake – The local authorities are looking into the fatality that occurred at Westwood Lake. It has been said in a post that has been shared on social media that “This is an enormous tragedy for our community.” I would like to urge both our students and our staff to check in with one another and to make use of the in-person counselling supports that we have made accessible on campus.

In addition, I would like to encourage both students and staff to make use of the virtual and online counselling supports that are also available for both groups. People who were there at the site began performing cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) on the individual for a considerable amount of time before the arrival of emergency personnel. It didn’t take long for Nanaimo Fire Rescue, BC Ambulance, and the RCMP to arrive at the scene of the emergency call, and they were ultimately successful in their efforts to resuscitate the patient.

The guy was then sent to the Nanaimo Regional General Hospital for additional treatment; however, he was unable to recuperate from his injuries and passed away at approximately 5:00 a.m. on Thursday morning. Ms. Saucier offered her most sincere sympathies on behalf of the whole team here at the company. To the student’s family, loved ones, and friends at Vancouver Island institution and beyond, as well as to anyone else who knew and admired the student, I offer my most sincere condolences on behalf of the institution. I also extend my condolences to anybody else who knew and liked the student. Those who are a part of our community are keeping you in their thoughts and prayers as you go through this challenging time. I am a parent, and I am also the president of the university, and I am completely heartbroken by your loss.
