Tulio Murillo, Obituary, Death – By now, everyone has been notified…I’m at a loss for words in light of this terrible and startling news. Treces del Sur is saddened to learn of the passing of Tulio Murillo, a fan and dear friend. Tulio offered us a platform since he has appreciated our music and wanted us to be noticed from the beginning. We are grateful for his honesty and support as a community.
As a reporter, photographer, and filmmaker for the Times Picayune for ten years straight starting at the very beginning, I am grateful to Tulio for giving me the chance to lead and represent Kenner Fest. He had a quiet voice but made decisions with conviction. Tulio never hesitated to take the time to talk to me and recently assisted me with a private matter. His wife, daughter, family, and closest friends have my sincere compassion and condolences. We will sincerely miss Tulio. I’m grateful. Tulio, rest in peace. Treces of the South.
