Tommy King Obituary, Death – I am writing to you all right now with some bad information that I received from Augusta. Yesterday evening, Tommy King viciously shot his fiancée in their historic home on Henry Street before turning the gun on himself. After the shooting, Tommy King committed suicide. There has not been extensive coverage of it in the media as of yet. People who knew him well are shocked to hear the news because they were not expecting it. When my father died away, both he and his mother were there for us, just as they have been for the law enforcement community for such a long time.
They have been an inspiration to all of us. My father served in the police department. The last time I spoke to Tommy, he was explaining to me why they didn’t have much of a web presence, and the response he gave me was very heartwarming: their line of business is one of individuals being there for other people at their moment of greatest need, not one of advertising. In other words, their job is helping people out when they are at their lowest point. I am completely unresponsive and am currently in a state of shock.
I pray that people will remember what that guy accomplished for this great town of ours, both during his brilliant career in the RCSO as well as in the family firm, and my heart goes out to his family as well as his many friends.
