Tom Heffernan Obituary, Death, Glasgow Scotland, Funeral Details

Tom Heffernan Obituary, Death – Why is the world so cruel? Marie-Clare Heffernana, my best friend, had to say good-by to her older brother yesterday. Tom was one of the kindest and most amusing men I’d ever met. He had always been a strong man who adored his wife, Lesley, and their three children. Have many happy occasions that you will never forget. Sleep well. Your Ibiza photo with Lesley, which Tom Heffernan adored, is here. As a result of this, Tom grew interested in farming. He was involved in 4H, worked on the farm, and raised cattle and rabbits.

After attending St. Anne’s Catholic Elementary School, he went on to Mater Dei High School in Santa Ana. He graduated from Mater Dei High School in 1962. Tom chose UC Davis because he was interested in farming. He graduated with a BS in Agricultural Production in 1966. In college, he was a member of the ROTC. He enlisted in the US Army as an officer in the Chemical Corps after graduating and was deployed to the Rocky Mountain Arsenal in Denver, Colorado. He was discharged from the army in 1968.

His acceptance to UCLA’s Anderson School of Management has been verified. While at the Newman Catholic Center, he ran across Claire Wichmann Heffernan, his wife of 45 years. They married on April 4th, 1970. His sons-in-law, Peter, Jerome, Martin, and Damien, as well as his grandchildren, cousins, nephews, other family members, and friends, will miss him greatly. He has two wives, Colette and Sandra, who will miss him.

His brother Vincent, who lives in Kildare, his sisters Eileen and Mary, who both live in London, and his brother-in-law Tommie Kelly, who lives in Lahardane are all living relatives. The body will be on display at Leonard’s Funeral Home in Lahardane on Sunday from 3 to 5 p.m. On Monday at noon, a funeral mass will be celebrated at St. Mary’s Church in Bofeenaun. The deceased will be laid to rest at the cemetery adjacent to the church. May Tom finally find peace in heaven. The Mass will be broadcast live at www.churchtv.ie/bofeenaun.
