He passed away. His fight against cancer lasted for a considerable amount of time. Unfortunately, he had to go his separate way. Despite the fact that my heart is heavy, I will share this information with you because it is important.
Stan was a life member of the Ashland Fire Association and had been active in the organization for more than 20 years, during which time he had served his community in a variety of positions. He was awarded life membership in recognition of his dedication to the cause. In recognition of his contribution, the department bestowed upon him the honor of life membership.
In addition to that, he was the secretary of the Maine State Federation of Firefighters for an unfathomably long amount of time, which makes it difficult to measure or quantify the length of time he served in that capacity. He held this position for an inconceivably long amount of time. During his time in office, he was an active participant in a variety of collaborative projects with Maine Municipal to advance the aims of our organization.
These projects were undertaken in order to move the organization closer to its vision. These activities were carried out in collaboration with staff from other municipal departments in Maine.
