Shirley Elder Obituary, Death – On May 25, 2023, Shirley A. Elder, who was 84 years old and originally from Texarkana, Texas, passed away in a local medical facility. She was a resident of the area. On June 15, 1938, Mrs. Elder was born into our family and our world. After spending a significant period of time employed in the beauty industry, she eventually decided to launch her own establishment.
Which she named Shirley’s Hair Fashion. In addition, she was highly talented in a variety of arts and crafts and maintained a business under the name Shirley’s Watermelon Patch. Mrs. Elder attended Hillcrest Baptist Church. She devoted the majority of her life to taking care of children, particularly her grandchildren, whom she adored. Her husband, Richard Elder, their infant twins, two daughters, Carrie Dyson and Robin Bourgeois, and two sons, Robert Elder and Kenneth Elder, all passed away before she did.
She was the last of her family members to pass away. She was the only member of her family to have lived to an old age. Her children Roxie Durham, Floyd Elder, and Kris Elder are among her survivors. In addition, she is survived by two sisters, Pam Pozzi and Carolyn Nicholson, both of whom are based in Jefferson, Louisiana. Her grandkids include Richard Young, Amy Hai, Amanda Vega, Cliff Watson, Misty Rini, Monica Simms, Kenneth Elder, Chris Elder, Kandice Elder, and Dawnielle Bourgeois. She also has nine great-grandchildren.
At eleven in the morning on Wednesday, May 31, 2023, there will be funeral services held at the Chapelwood Funeral Home. The Reverend Matt Graves is going to serve as the ceremony’s officiant. The burial will take place at Chapelwood Memorial Gardens immediately following the service. Visitation will take place on Wednesday for the entirety of the hour leading up to the beginning of the service.
