Sharon Poston Obituary, Death – We must break the sad news that my cherished mother, Sharon Kay Poston, has passed away. John (Jack) and Evelyn Watson gave birth to Sharon on August 9, 1949, in Flint, Michigan. John (Jack) and Evelyn Watson welcomed Sharon into the world on August 9, 1949, in Flint, Michigan. She and her husband, Larry J. Poston, were wed in Mount Morris, Michigan, on June 28th, 1969, following his brief overseas duty with the US Army in Thailand.
Sharon loved to travel and was the devoted wife of a US Army veteran. Prior to her retirement to care for her ailing husband, Sharon worked for AAFES, the City of New Llano, and as a police officer dispatcher and matron. She enjoyed solving crossword puzzles, watching her hummingbirds, and gardening. She also enjoyed playing bingo and bunco with her daughter. Always putting others first, Sharon frequently volunteered with the VFW, American Legion, and VA in her spare time.
With her daughter by her side, Sharon passed away on June 3, 2023 in Cabrini Hospital in Alexandria after an unexpected illness. Her parents John & Evelyn Watson of Flint, Michigan, sister Donna Clark of Flint, Michigan, sister-in-law Martha Watson of Flint, Michigan, and nephew Johny Watson of Alegan, Michigan predeceased Sharon in addition to her husband Larry J Poston Sr. and son Larry J Poston Jr. In addition to a large number of nieces and nephews, she is survived by her daughter Lisa Kay Poston of New Llano, LA, brother John (Jackie) Watson of Flint, MI, sister Ruth Hampton of Genesee, MI, and brother-in-law Thomas J Clark of Flint, MI. At a later date, Sharon will be cremated and a private service held.
