Sharon Martin Obituary, Death –On Friday, June 02, 2023, Sharon Lee Martin, 80, of Council Bluffs passed away in her home. Charles C. Smith and Bette L. Smith welcomed Sharon into the world on January 21, 1943 in Clinton, Iowa. She completed her education at Madison High School in Madison, Nebraska, in 1961, and then enrolled at the University of Nebraska in Omaha to study English.

Sharon spent several years working as an office manager before retiring from Environmental Salvage in 1995 after 20 years of service. She cherished the time she spent with her kids, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She also had a tremendous love of the water; she grew up enjoying the Mississippi. In later years she traveled with her family spending time on the beaches of Hawaii, Florida, Mexico, and Caribbean.

Sharon is survived by her daughter Robin Lovvorn, daughter-in-law Carey/Mike Jensen, son-in-law Michael/Tammi Martin, son-in-law Gary/Heather Martin II, brother Ronald Smith, brother Larry/Charlene Smith, aunt Gladys Krongard, sisters-in-law Carol and Penny Martin, twelve grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, and a large number of nieces and nephews.

The Cutler-O’Neill-Meyer-Woodring Funeral Home has been given the task of making the preparations by the family. The visitation and funeral service will take place on Wednesday, June 7, 2023, from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. The funeral service will start at 10:30 a.m. The Walnut Hill Reception Centre, 1350 E. Pierce Street, will host a reception after the ceremony.
