Ray Paul Obituary, Death – Ray Don Paul, age 73, died away on Thursday, June 8, 2023 at his home in Higginsville, Missouri. He was surrounded by his devoted family at the time of his passing. It was on October 6, 1949 in Warrensburg, Missouri, that he was born to the late Oscar G. Paul and the late Ruby A. (Moehlman) Paul.

Both of his parents have now passed away. Surviving members of his family include his wife, Shirley, who stays at home; two daughters, Susan (Derek) Augustine and Julie (Justin) Boehmer; five grandchildren, Kayla, Gracie, and Adam Augustine; Ethan and Eli Boehmer; one brother, Larry (Mikelette) Paul of Independence, Missouri; and a number of cousins, nieces, and nephews.

His mother and father as well as his half-brother Wayne Paul all passed away before him. On November 6, 1949, Ray Don was baptized in Christ at the Bethel United Church of Christ in Concordia, Missouri, and on April 7, 1963, he was confirmed in his faith. After completing his high school education at Concordia, he went on to study at Central Missouri State University, which is located in Warrensburg, Missouri.

In 1969, Ray Don gladly served his country by enlisting in the United States Army and playing the trumpet in the army band during his time in the service. In addition, he considered it an honor and a privilege to serve as a bugler and play the taps for his fallen comrades. Throughout his entire life, he was an active member of the American Legion Post 223 in Higginsville and participated in the Honor Guard there.

On July 24, 1971, he wed Shirley (Dierking) Paul, and the two of them have enjoyed a great marriage for the past 52 years. He supported his wife Shirley, his daughters Susan and Julie, and their families no matter what was going on in their lives or where they were located. He valued the time he spent with his family, including his wife Shirley, his daughters Susan and Julie, and their families.
