
Noryne Mascarella Obituary, Death –There is no longer any hope for Noryne Mascarella, He was a devoted husband for the past 69 years and a doting father to his five kids. Lucian had lived in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, his entire life and was 91 years old. He was a native of the city. He and Wilma moved to Mebane, North Carolina in 2001 so that they could be closer to some of his relatives, and they have remained there as residents for the past 20 years.After more than a decade of duty in the United States Navy and United States Marine Corps, he retired from the military with the rank of Staff Sergeant.
In order to pay respect to a member of his family who had been killed in action, Lucian enlisted in the 1st Marine Division during the Korean War and served in a combat position. After returning home, he resumed his service in the Marine Corps and eventually became an air traffic controller in New Orleans. During this time, he was stationed in Louisiana. Following his discharge from the service, Lucian obtained employment with the United States Postal Service and remained there until his retirement more than 21 years later.
At the Salisbury National Cemetary in North Carolina, where he will be laid to rest, full military honors will be provided. After he retired, he volunteered his time to help restore the USS Kidd, which was a Navy destroyer, and he also taught young people across the country how to be proficient with firearms. Even after his recollection of other significant life events began to fade, he would frequently remind anybody he met that “I am a Marine, you know.” He took great pride in his service in the Marine Corps and would frequently remind them of this fact.
Lucian will be remembered for all time as a devoted supporter of the LSU Tigers. Purple and gold ran through his veins. Throughout his life, Lucian was known for being quite the prankster, and he devoted a significant amount of time to looking after and amusing his grandchildren.When PawPaw was in the neighborhood, the grandchildren were never at a loss for things to do.Wilma Lee (Everett) Mascarella, Lucian’s wife, his brother Tommy, their children Wayne and wife Jeanie, Bobby and wife Jackie, Greg and wife Chris, Charlie and wife Rhonda, and daughter Nancy are among those who are left behind after Lucian’s passing. His family and friends had an incredible amount of affection for him.
