Miles Wilson Obituary, Death – Miles M. Wilson, 90, of Toomsboro, formerly of Newnan, passed away on Monday, October 24, 2022, at PruittHealth – Toomsboro. He was the widower of the late Shelby Jean Cagle Wilson. Miles M. Wilson was born on May 11, 1932, in a little cabin in Haleyville, Alabama.
Since Miles hated his middle name and went to great lengths to hide it, we’ll omit the middle initial M. He was Pernie Cagle Wilson and Mark Wilson’s first child. He lost both his father and stepfather when he was still a little lad. He also lost his father at a young age. He had originally considered pursuing a career in journalism, but the cost of education proved to be too great a barrier for him to overcome. He always said, “I’m a ceiling man.” He honorably served in the Army during the Korean War and was discharged from the service with the rank of Sergeant. This is when he first met Shelby Jean Cagle, the woman who would become his wife. Their union lasted 59 years.
