Mavis Smith Obituary, Death – We recently learned that David Smith’s mother, Mrs Mavis, died this morning. We thank God for her life and ask that you join us in prayer for her family. God heard our pleas for mercy, and we now ask for His consolation, serenity, and strength for the family. Mavis Smith, 95, of Kincardine, New Brunswick, died quietly at Victoria Glen Manor in Perth-Andover on April 11, 2023, surrounded by her family. She was born on October 10, 1927 in Upper Kintore, New Brunswick, the daughter of the late Leslie and Myra (Robinson) Barclay.
She is survived by her children: Sharon Hawkins (Brian) of Halifax, NS, Marilyn Forman (Robert) of Ward Settlement, NB, Wayne Smith (Danita) of Okotoks, AB, Heather Russell (Steve) of Beaver Bank, NS and Carolyn Smith of Kincardine, NB; eight grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; three step-great-grandchildren and a brother George Barclay (Gail) of Vegreville, AB.
Her parents were preceded in death by her husband of 73 years, Earl Smith, in November 2021, and two sisters, Dorothy Farquhar (Joseph) and Hazel Watson (David). Brunswick Funeral Home in Perth-Andover, New Brunswick, will host a visitation. Saturday, April 15, 2023, between 2:00 and 4:30 p.m. A funeral service and burial will be held on May 28, 2023 at 2 p.m. at Melville United Church in Kincardine, New Brunswick. The funeral will be followed by interment in the church cemetery.
