Marshall Martin Obituary, Death – Death. It is coming for all of us. It is not a question of what you are due. Should this be the case, some people would live forever while others would pass away the very next day. All that we can do is strive to be the most improved version of ourselves that we can be on a daily basis. Daily efforts, difficult choices, and personal sacrifices are required to accomplish this goal.
It’s probably safe to say that this is something the vast majority of us will never accomplish; very few people ever do. Today, we said goodbye to one of the individuals who did. That individual was named Marshall Martin. He was one of the most hard-working and goal-oriented guys I’ve ever met; he didn’t consider anything less than 99% to be satisfactory.
I first got to know him through the sport of triathlon, and ever since then, he has been someone that I have always looked up to as a role model. Something that will stay with me for the rest of my life is the lesson that your priorities should always be in this order: God, Family, Work, and Triathlon. He had such a wonderful influence on others around him, encouraging them to be better versions of themselves.
Something that I intend to continue in his honor! Marshall passed away while pursuing his passion. On Sunday (5/21/23), he participated in Ironman Chattanooga 70.3, and somewhere along the bike course, he was involved in an accident. The fact that he left the house with his boots on is the most we could have hoped for. He has a wife and a daughter that he is leaving behind. Please keep praying for him and his family in this time of need.
