Mark Kasse Obituary, Death – After a protracted illness, Mark G. Kassey, 61, of Plainville, passed away at home on Sunday, August 11, 2019. He was the son of the late George Kassey Jr. and Irene B. (Stanczyk) Kassey and was born in New Britain on November 11, 1957. Mark was born and reared in New Britain, where he also attended school.

Mark worked for Circuit Incorporated as a Circuit Board Plater until the company stopped operating and shut down its factory in Connecticut. Mark maintained his strength as his condition worsened, and soon after getting divorced, he volunteered at the First Church of Wethersfield as the group’s leader.

He had an impact on and was helpful to lots of people who were struggling. Since he was nine years old, Mark has had Type 1 juvenile diabetes, but he has never let his condition keep him from doing the things he loved. He loved collecting vinyl records, miniature cars, and railroads.

The UCONN Police Department in Farmington officer Susan “Sue” Kassey, who regarded Mark as her idol, and his sister also enjoyed spending time with him. Even though Mark’s sickness was protracted and challenging, he approached it head-on with a committed spirit. Sue is incredibly fortunate to have known Mark for the amount of time she did. He is survived by his godmother Nellie Stanczyk of Berlin, his sister Officer Susan Kassey of New Britain, and other cherished relatives. Along with his parents, Regina Lynne Kassey, his baby daughter, also predeceased him.
