Man in Wheelchair Killed By Vehicle In Augusta, Police Investigating

Ridge Road Accident  – The Richmond County Coroner’s Office is looking into a deadly accident involving a pedestrian that happened on Saturday. At Ridge Road and Deans Bridge Road, it took place. John Cummings, 63, of the 2500 block of Dover Street, was using a power wheelchair on Deans Bridge Road when he was hit by a car. a 4-year-old following an accident in Orangeburg County on Friday afternoon. The South Carolina Highway Patrol reports that the collision took place on private property close to the 200 block of Belfast Avenue at approximately 3:26 p.m.

He was taken to Augusta University Medical Center, where at 6:46 on Saturday, he was declared dead. According to Mark Bowen, the coroner, blunt force trauma was the cause of death.
