Maggie Cripe Obituary, Dowagiac MI, Maggie Cripe has Reportedly Passed Away

Maggie Cripe Obituary, Death – On Monday, June 5, 2023, Margaret Ann “Maggie” Cripe, age 28 and currently residing in Chicago but formerly of Dowagiac, passed away unexpectedly. The child of Dr. Matthew and Beth (Judd) Cripe, she was born on September 7th, 1994 in Dowagiac. Her mother’s maiden name was Judd. Even when she was just a young infant, she showed signs of having a forceful personality. When she woke up from her naps, she would make insistent verbal requests for food and attention.

She was a sweet little girl who never did anything on her own and constantly imitated her older brother. At the age of two, she was already well-known for her thick, round glasses, her ears that stood out, and the bow that she always wore in her hair. She was also far-sighted. She became a thinker and an organizer as she grew older, and she had a strong desire that all of the items in her possession, as well as the possessions of others, be placed in the appropriate locations. She enjoyed playing pranks on others, and one of her favorite activities was hiding people’s handbags or sweaters.

When she was in elementary school, her favorite things were her pals, sleepovers, and endless chats. The only thing she enjoyed more than throwing parties was spending time at Indian lake with her family, friends, and even her pets. Maggie had a deep affection for animals, particularly dogs and Golden Retrievers, but she also adored her cats.
During her time at the high school, she came into her own as a person and developed into a lovely young girl. She received varsity letters in tennis, soccer, and golf, and she also served as a section leader in the band. She attended Dowagiac Union High School and received her diploma in 2013.

She earned her degree in 2017 from Albion College, where she was a member of Alpha Chi Omega Sorority and also attended. After graduating from college, she went to work at Alight, where she utilized the communications degree she had earned in the marketing department for the next six years, until she was taken from us (far too soon) on Monday, June 5, 2023, owing to unexpected complications from Type One Diabetes.
