Liesl Aitken Obituary, Death – Since Liesl Aitken (Hanger) was taken from us much too soon on Friday as the result of a terrible accident, all of us here at her family and friends are going to miss her very much. We are going to miss her very much because she was taken from us much too soon.
Liesl Aitken (Hanger) was a great person. After learning of her passing, we would like to offer our most sincere sympathies to you and your family. When Liesl first started playing ice hockey, the Kew Hockey Club junior squad was where she played for her first several seasons. It was here that she first began participating in the sport.
After that, she made the decision to become a student at Monash University with the objective of completing her education in the game of hockey at that institution. After she completed her education, she went on to win premierships with the women’s 2nds in 1999 and the masters in 2007.
Both of these victories came after she turned 30. After she had already achieved all of her educational objectives, she was successful in both of these endeavors. These two achievements were completed while Kew was serving as the location for the event. A player who is held in extremely high regard by the two different clubs. During this trying time, we want Liesl’s family to know that they are in our thoughts and prayers, and that we are thinking about them. We also want them to know that we want them to know that we are thinking about them.
