Kevin Janisch Obituary, Death – We regret to notify the WYSO community of the passing of Kevin L. Janisch, a respected music teacher and alumnus of the organisation. The WYSO team sends its sincere sympathies to Kevin’s family. Kevin had a profound love for learning, performing, and teaching music.
From a young age, Kevin enjoyed learning about and knowing Christ. As he grew, his knowledge of and faith in his Lord Jesus flourished. He always strived to glorify God through his life. Kevin started playing the cello in 4th grade and soon after joined the Wisconsin Youth Symphony Orchestra, where he was a member through his high school years. He also enjoyed playing percussion, upright and electric bass, piano, and French horn.
Thea Stanek was a violinist in the symphony at Kevin’s high school, and they hit it off right away. Later, they started dating, and on November 3, 2002, they got married. They played together in a variety of orchestral and chamber ensembles as well as on the church worship team because they both loved learning, playing, and teaching music. Along with sharing a love of travel, they also had a variety of interests in hobbies and pastimes. These included history, genealogy, astronomy, model railroading, and other sciences.
