Jim Cusack Obituary, City Of Moonee Valley, Former Mayor & Councillor Has Died

Jim Cusack Obituary, Death – Recently, Jim Cusack, a former mayor and councilman, passed away.
From 2005 until 2020, Jim worked as a devoted public servant and community volunteer for Moonee Valley. He was in office from 2005 to 2020.

In his capacity as mayor, Jim established a sister city relationship with Liquica in Timor and the Mayor program, both of which are now well-known in the neighborhood. Our International Women’s Day Breakfast was also started by him.
Jim was unwavering in his long-term advocacy and unwavering in his support of the Moonee Valley residents who were the most disenfranchised, particularly those who lived near the Flemington Estate.

The opening of our Flemington Hub, which will happen very soon, will symbolize the conclusion of Jim’s life’s effort toward social justice. The passing of Jim Cusack, who had previously held office as a councillor for Moonee Valley, upset me.

Jim served as an excellent representative for the southeast region of the municipality for almost 15 years, which comprised the communities of Ascot Vale, Flemington, Moonee Ponds, and Travancore. He was a devout Irishman with a strong sense of social responsibility who spent a large deal of his time helping many of our most needy citizens.

He devoted a lot of his time to serving others. Jim was a person of high moral standards and honesty. It was a privilege and an honor to have known him and spent time with him. His family has my undivided attention at this tough time, as well as my sympathies.
