Jerry Parks Obituary, Death – The Wichita Police Department is carrying on with its investigation into a terrible accident that occurred on Thursday evening and included a bicycle and a car. The accident occurred when the cyclist was crossing the street in front of the vehicle. The victim was riding the bicycle at the time of the accident, while the driver was behind the wheel of the vehicle.

Jerry Parks, a 55-year-old man from Goddard, was able to be identified by the authorities as the bicyclist who had been struck and who subsequently passed away as a result of the injuries he had sustained as a result of the collision. Accident involving a car and a bicycle occurred in the 6200 block of West Taft Avenue at approximately 6:30 o’clock on Thursday evening. Both vehicles were involved in the collision. The accident was investigated by law enforcement officers who traveled to the location where it occurred.

Parks received treatment for his life-threatening injuries at a nearby hospital after being brought there by emergency medical workers. Sadly, he did not survive the ordeal and passed away. The passing of Parks occurred just a short while after he was brought to the hospital. According to a press statement that was distributed by the WPD, Parks rode his bicycle into the West Taft roadway from the north side of the roadway, which was separated from the other side of the street by a line of shrubbery, and was heading in the direction of the south just prior to the crash.

According to the findings of the inquiry, a woman in her 32nd year who was driving a Ford Mustang was unable to come to a full stop in time to avoid hitting with Parks while he was riding his bicycle. Parks was injured as a result of the collision. The authorities have issued a statement that has been made public, which states that “Neither speed nor impairment are believed to have been contributing factors to the accident.” While the investigation is still ongoing, the authorities are requesting that anyone who saw the collision to get in touch with the WPD detectives by calling the following number: 316-350-3687.
