Jeffrey Allen Obituary, Death – A man has been charged with murder in connection with a homicide that took place in the little village of Labelle, which is located close to Liverpool, by the Major Crime Unit of the Southwest Nova RCMP.
On the afternoon of May 31, 2023, around 3:45 p.m., a guy in his 50s showed up at the Nova Scotia RCMP Headquarters in Dartmouth and said that he had just killed a woman.
The male was taken into custody without delay, and the Queens District RCMP made sure the 62-year-old woman was okay by conducting a welfare check. Sadly, members of the RCMP discovered that she had passed away. Jeffrey Allen Ohrt, who is 50 years old and lives in Liverpool, has been charged with murder in the first degree. He is still being held without bail and is scheduled to make an appearance in the Bridgewater Provincial Court today.
The investigation is being directed by the Major Crime Unit of the RCMP’s Southwest Nova Detachment, and it is being assisted by the RCMP Forensic Identification Services, the RCMP’s Queens District Detachment, and the Nova Scotia Medical Examiner’s Office. Anyone who may have information is urged to call the Southwest Nova RCMP Major Crime Unit at the following number: 902-365-3120.
Call Nova Scotia Crime Stoppers at their toll-free number, 1-800-222-TIPS (8477), send a secure web tip at their website, www.crimestoppers.ns.ca, or utilize the P3 Tips app if you desire to remain anonymous when providing information.
Because Ohrt was familiar with the victim, we have reason to suspect that this was a premeditated attack.
