Jeffery Thomas Obituary, Death – On Friday, a truck-trailer and a motorcycle were involved in a fatal accident close to the intersection of Hjelviks Road and U.S. Highway 101. The deceased motorcyclist has been identified as Jeffery S. Thomas, who was a resident of Kingston. He was 33. At around 11:26 a.m. on Friday, a tractor-trailer was slowing down to make a turn into the parking lot of the Yelvik General Store, according to the State Patrol. He was on a leisure trip with three other people from Naval Base Kitsap at Bremerton, and they were travelling southbound on Highway 101.
Troopers stated in a note that Thomas ran into the back of the truck and died at the scene of the accident.
Both the truck driver, Thomas M. Perkins, 62, and passenger Cheryl L. Perkins, 60, both of Poulsbo, were able to walk away from the accident unscathed. Both Thomas and the other passenger were restrained by seat belts, and Thomas furthermore wore a helmet. According to the troopers, an investigation into the reason of the wreck is now ongoing.
