Janice Greenwood Obituary, Death – At the time of her passing on September 17, 2022 in Viera, Florida, Janice “Jan” L. Greenwood was 96 years old. She was surrounded by her family as she died away. On May 7th, 1926, Jan Ganz made his debut into the world in Baltimore, Maryland. Her mother was Thelma Rau Ganz, and her father was Carl W. H. Ganz. After graduating from Towson High School, Jan enrolled in classes at Western Maryland College to continue her education. After completing her studies at that institution and receiving a degree in English in 1948, she went on to become an educator.

1948 saw Jan tie the knot with Samuel H. Greenwood, a veteran of World War II who had been a member of the 505th Bombardment Group. After serving his country in the war, Samuel H. Greenwood was now back home. They were successful in having a family unit that resulted in the birth of three children: Tara, as well as twins called Robert and William. The years preceding up to Jan and her husband’s move to Indian River Colony Club (IRCC) in 2004, they lived in Queenstown, Maryland, as their primary residence. There, she was able to pursue her interests in hobbies such as sailing, boating, traveling, reading, and playing bridge, among other things.

Tara (née Greenwood) and Rodney Schultz of Hot Spring, South Dakota, and Robert and Patricia Greenwood of Viera, Florida, are her surviving children. She also leaves behind a number of grandchildren and great grandchildren. Robert Greenwood, who was to have been her husband, passed away before she did. Both her husband of 59 years, with whom she shared her life, love, and companionship, Samuel, and her son, William, passed away before she did. The nearest members of the family have been given private instructions for the funeral preparations that will take place at Florida Memorial Gardens.
