James Schoedel Obituary, Death – James Douglas Schoedel, a beloved resident of Manistee, passed away on Saturday, June 3, 2023, at the age of 26. He was born in Manistee on November 4, 1996, to Charles F. and Katherine L. (Dunlap) Schoedel. James attended Bear Lake High School and was deeply loved by his family and friends.

In his community, James was an active volunteer for the Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) and dedicated his time to various other organizations. He had a passion for cars and animals, finding joy in their presence. Family get-togethers were particularly special to him, and he cherished the moments spent with his loved ones.

Left to cherish his memory are his parents, Charles and Katherine Schoedel, along with his siblings: Jessica Putney, Amanda Taylor, Cali Kouba, Chuck Schoedel, and Tobi Purple. He is also survived by his biological mother, PJ Kenyon, and her daughter Katrina, as well as his maternal grandmother, Judy Dunlap. James leaves behind caring aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews who will miss him dearly.

Preceding James in death are his paternal grandparents, Charles and Patricia Schoedel, his maternal grandfather, John Dunlap, and his uncle, Bill Schoedel. A memorial service to honor James’ life will take place on Sunday, June 11, 2023, at 3:00 PM at the Oak Grove Funeral Home & Cremation Center in Manistee. The service will be officiated by Pastor Jacob Sherry. Prior to the service, the family will receive friends at the funeral home starting at 1:00 PM.
