James Hedrick Obituary, Death –  We regret to inform you of the demise of James Patton Hedrick, Jr., age 72, who left us on May 17, 2023, in the privacy of his Eufaula, Alabama, home. James, also known as Pat, was born on November 12, 1950, in Hartford, Alabama. Pat had a contagious smile and a welcoming attitude that touched many people’s lives.
Pat was predeceased by his treasured mother, Elonia Henson, his beloved daughter, James Patton Hedrick, Sr., his infant sister, Lisa Renita Hedrick, and his sister-in-law, Vanessa Hedrick.

We shall always cherish our memories of them and the influence they had on Pat’s life. Pat’s career path brought him to Southwestern Bell Yellow Pages in Texas, where he is a committed salesman in the communications department. However, it was his love of people and his sense of adventure that ultimately inspired him to buy JJ’s Pawn in Beaumont, Texas. Because Pat enjoyed connecting with people, his pawn store developed into a location where people could become friends and swap tales.

All people whose lives he impacted while working at the pawn business will cherish his memory. In addition to his professional achievements, Pat had a friendly personality that attracted others to him. He had a strong passion for fishing and found comfort in the calm peacefulness of the waterways. His family was the source of his greatest delight; together, they made priceless memories that will always be remembered.

Pat’s warm and kind disposition brightened the lives of everyone around him, and his cherished family and friends will feel the loss of him deeply. His loyal wife Jeri Hedrick of Eufaula, Alabama, his adored mother Mittie Hedrick of Bonifay, Florida, and his son James Patton Hedrick III of Beaumont, Texas, and Shayne Machotka and wife Brandi of Clarksville, Tennessee are all left to pay tribute to Pat.
