James C. “Butch” Christian Obituary, Death – James C. “Butch” Christian, age 72, passed away on June 2, 2023 in Camden Clark Medical Center in Parkersburg, West Virginia. He was a resident of Cottageville. He was the son of Clarence Edgar Christian and Betty Jean (Spangler) Christian, both of whom passed away before his birth on May 9, 1951 in Beckley, West Virginia.

In addition to his biological parents, he was predeceased by his wife Laura Louise (Donohew) Christian, his sister Delores Louise Christian, and his brother-in-law Carl Donohew. His parents passed away while he was a little child.
He received his diploma from Ripley High School in the year 1970. He was a member of the United Mine Workers Union and worked as a mechanic in the past for Cedar Coal in Cedar Grove, West Virginia.

He had worked as a truck driver in the past and was now retired from Constellium in Ravenswood, West Virginia. He was a United Steelworkers Union member and belonged to the local 5668 in Ravenswood, West Virginia. He had a passion for working on automobiles and riding his Harley Davison motorcycle. His children Amy (Matthew) Anderson of Sandyville and Tina (Nathan) Jones of Cottageville are among his survivors.

He also leaves behind his grandchildren, Bradley Anderson and Grace Jones; his sister Jennifer (Barry Hudnall) Christian of Evans; his brother-in-law Dennis “Buck” (Kelly) Donohew; his sisters-in-law Lola (Eugene) Prunty and Bonnie French; and a number of nieces and nephews. Casto Funeral Home in Evans, West Virginia will host the service on Tuesday, June 13, 2023 at 1 pm. Pastor Mark Price will preside over the ceremony. After the service, burial will take place in the Jackson County Memory Gardens in Cottageville, West Virginia. On Monday, the funeral home will be open for visitation beginning at six o’clock and continuing until nine o’clock.
