James Burns Obituary, Death – On May 26, 2023, retired Lieutenant James J. Burns II of Engine 46, who had been battling an ailment related to the World Trade Center for long time, passed away. He had been battling this sickness for some time. Burns had been a part of Engine 46 for a considerable amount of time. As they inform everyone that he has passed away, the department’s employees are expressing their deepest condolences to those around them.

During the better part of four decades, Lt. Burns II distinguished himself by serving with distinction as a member of our superior department. His wife, Maureen, as well as his three children and their wives, Maura and Kevin Creeden, Erin and Chris Lee, and Lauren Burns, as well as his grandchildren Ryan, Kaleigh, Morgan, and McKenna, as well as his extended family and friends, are some of the people who will continue to remember and cherish him after he has passed away.
