Jamar Hector Obituary, Death – Jamar Knowlej Ra We are pleased to be able to share the news of Hector’s passing with you at this time because he was a treasured member of the Brooklyn Bowl family. We will miss him greatly. Knowlej Ra was a reliable presence for many years, during which time he worked as an operator for the sound monitors at an endless number of different events.
Knowlej was probably the reason why we had a decent sound, as he was involved in some way or another. If you’ve ever seen The Hold Steady, there’s a good chance that you saw Knowlej behind the board on stage, pumping his arms with delight while he worked with a band that he loved profoundly about. Knowlej was not only an extremely talented audio engineer, but he also brought a great deal more to the table than just that.
He brought a lot of other things to the table as well. His generosity, compassion, artistic skill, witty sense of humor, and light permeated every inch of our space; to have worked with him was to have loved him. All of those who were close to him, including his lovely wife, family, and friends, are in our hearts and minds during this difficult time. Our souls are crushed, and we are unable to express how sorry we are for their loss. His legacy will live on within the borders of Brooklyn Bowl for as long as the bowling alley is in existence. Knowlej, we miss you, we love you.
