Ishatua Smail Obituary, Death – According to the Milwaukee County Medical Examiner’s Office, a pedestrian who was involved in a hit-and-run collision two weeks ago sadly passed away from his injuries on Sunday. The victim has been identified as Ishatua Smail, a 32-year-old resident of Milwaukee. The incident occurred on May 22, around 5:49 p.m., as Smail was walking near the intersection of North 37th Street and West Lisbon Avenue on the west side of Milwaukee. A vehicle traveling westbound struck him, and instead of stopping, the driver continued driving.

Law enforcement officials have not announced any arrests related to the case in their initial statement released in May. As of Monday, they have not provided updated information regarding the investigation. Tragically, Ishatua Smail passed away on Sunday at Froedtert Hospital, as confirmed by the report from the medical examiner’s office.

The city of Milwaukee has experienced a concerning number of traffic fatalities this year. As of Monday, there have been 31 recorded traffic-related deaths, surpassing the figures from the same period in 2022 (26 fatalities) and 2021 (24 fatalities).
