Gordon Grant Brown Obituary, Death – Gordon Grant Brown, a devoted husband and father who lived in Zanesville and was 80 years old, passed away at the Adams Lane Care Center in Zanesville at 3:45 in the morning on Tuesday, May 23, 2023. He was the son of Grant Brown and Eva (Wakefield) Brown and was born in Zanesville on the 30th of September in 1942 on the Wednesday. Sherry (Mayle) Brown, to whom he was married on Saturday, October 31, 1964, passed away on Tuesday, May 1, 2012, having been his wife’s immediate predecesor.
Gordon leaves behind one daughter, Julia Brown of Cleveland (who is engaged to Syreeta Hall), two sons, James Jeffrey Brown and Steve (Tricia) Brown, both of Zanesville, as well as a number of nieces and nephews. His two sisters, May Helen Palmer and Bonnie Jean Morris, passed away before him in addition to his parents and his wife. His parents also before him. Early in his life, Gordon decided to dedicate himself to serving Christ.
He received his high school diploma from Zanesville and worked his entire career at Burnham Boiler before retiring. On Wednesday, May 31, 2023, friends and family are welcome to stop by the Hillis, Combs & Nestor Funeral Home, located at 935 Forest Avenue in Zanesville, Ohio, between the hours of 11:00 AM and 1:00 PM. On Wednesday, May 31, 2023, at 1:00 PM, there will be a funeral ceremony held at the Hillis, Combs & Nestor Funeral Home, which is located at 935 Forest Avenue in Zanesville. The final act of the funeral will be the interment at Woodlawn Cemetery in Zanesville.
