George Leidy Obituary, Easton USA, Active 3rd Platoon Captain Has Passed Away

George Leidy Obituary, Death – The Easton Professional Firefighters would like to express their deepest condolences to the family and friends of Active 3rd Platoon Captain George Leidy (2056), who passed away recently. Captain Leidy had been a member of the organization for the past 20 years. On May 6, 1998, the Easton Fire Department offered George, a former member of the United States Marine Corps, a position there.

George had served in the Marine Corps. He started out as a member of the Department’s DIVE team, and later he was put in control of the fleet of boats and water rescue equipment that the Department had. During the course of his career with the Department, he held a number of different positions. George was awarded a promotion on March 15, 2014, which resulted in him being assigned the position of Captain of the Third Platoon.

During the time that George was in a position of responsibility, he had a strong dedication to assuring the well-being of the people who worked under his supervision as well as the community that they were there to serve. The “all business” approach, the direction, and the specialist knowledge that he supplied will be remembered with gratitude for a long time to come.

George will be sorely missed, but the people whose lives and careers he shaped as a mentor will ensure that his legacy continues on long after he is gone. These people will carry on the work he started. We continue to remember his family in our thoughts and prayers as they go through this challenging time.
