Gary Terry Obituary, Death – Due to the passing of my beloved brother and my momma’s youngest son, Gary Terry, our business will be CLOSED this weekend. We ask that you keep our family in your prayers. On October 13, 2022, Gary Wayne Terry departed this world and went to be with his Lord and Savior. He had been ill for some time. Gary Terry was brought into the world on July 29th, 1948 by his parents, George and Ruth Terry.
Gary has one brother named Bobby, as well as two sisters named Elaine Mayberry and Linda Clark. He was a native and lifelong resident of Tulsa and spent a significant portion of his career working in the Street department of the City of Tulsa. On April 12, 1968, Gary wed the woman who would become the love of his life, Lenora Mae Terry. He and Mae had a life together that lasted for 54 and a half years.
God and his family were very important to Gary. Being around him was such a pleasure, and his infectious laugh made it impossible not to join in on the fun. Gary’s other passion was racing automobiles. He drove a push truck for many years at Tulsa Speedway, Creek County, and the Chili Bowl race, which was an event that his father looked forward to each year with great anticipation.
If you went to any of the races, you could always find Gary there with cold drinks, snacks, and even chicken or barbecue from time to time—not to mention the tools—and you could always be sure to find him. Whatever you required, he had it in his possession. At the races, he made a lot of friends, and a good number of those friendships lasted a lifetime.
