Fontella Monroe Obituary, Death – On Sunday, June 4, 2023, Shirley Fontella (Greene) Monroe, 82, of Washburn, died away. She was a former employee of St. Mary’s Medical Center and a member of Mt. Eager Baptist Church. Husband Harl Monroe, parents Rev. Lewis and Gladys (Capps) Greene, sister Glenda Shelton, sister-in-law Brenda Pratt, and nephew Dwayne Pratt by marriage preceded her in death. Amy, Anthony, Jade, and Emily Kuykendall, Becky, Danny, Dillon, Devin, and Drew Farmer, Connie, Richie, and Blair Nicley are among the survivors.

Also left behind are Gladys Williams, Joe Shelton, and Stacy and Von Williams, Sherry Mills, Hazel Lovitt, Rodney, and Lance Pratt, who are married nieces and nephews. The Ridgeview Terrace of Life Care staff deserves special recognition. On Friday at 1 PM, family and friends are invited to gather at the funeral home to participate in the funeral procession.
