Dwight Fenton Obituary, Death  – Dwight Guerdet was born in Estherville, Iowa, on December 7, 1946, to Leo and Florence (Flier) Guerdet. He died on June 8, 2023, in Fairmont, Minnesota, at the Mayo Clinic. He was 76 years old. 1966 was the last year he went to Sentral of Fenton High School. Dwight joined the Army National Guard when he moved to Iowa. He married his high school sweetheart, Jayne Dreyer, on April 12, 1969. The couple spent a lot of time and effort working the land in the Armstrong area.

He got to know people in the Armstrong area because he went to St. Mary’s Catholic Parish. Dwight was the life of the party. He started every day with coffee, food, and a game of pool, cards, or golf with his friends. He liked to go to the casino and play Blackjack when he had some free time. His family and friends remembered that he was always in trouble. Dwight cared most about spending time with his family and taking part in everything they did.

Dwight is survived by his wife, Jayne, of Armstrong, as well as his children Dr. Dean (Sam Boeke) Guerdet (Decorah, Iowa), Denise (Omaha, Nebraska) Magill, and DeAnne (Emmitsburg, Iowa) Wickman, and his grandkids Spencer (DeAnne’s), Sydni (DeAnne’s), Cassandra (Emmitsburg), and Nathan (Armstrong). His sister Waunita (Ken) Hoss of Lemars, Iowa, and his brother Dave (Judy) Dreyer of Oelwin, as well as many cousins, nephews, other family members, and friends, will miss him. Dwight’s parents, brothers, and two baby sisters, Dennis and Douglas Guerdet, all died before him. Frank and Gladys Dreyer, Joanne Walker, Virgina Guerdet, and Elain Herker, and Allen Walker, who was his brother-in-law, have all died.
