Doug Lee Obituary, Death – We mourn Doug Ver Lee, our founder. Doug died peacefully on June 7, 2023. His loving wife of 40 years, Pat; his children, Rachel, Michael, and Angie; his sons-in-law, Tom and Aaron; and his soon-to-be daughter-in-law, Reshmene, were with him until the end. Doug was blessed to see his wonderful granddaughters, Ava, Sofie, and Benedict, before passing. Doug, from Pontiac, Michigan, succeeded in business.
He picked Naperville for his family in 1991. Doug was moved to start Visiting Angels of Plainfield with Pat after caring for his father with Alzheimer’s. Doug’s idea of providing a lifeline to local families guides our purpose today. Doug was diagnosed with MSA, a rare neurological illness that affects involuntary functions, seven years ago. Doug persevered and donated his brain for study to better comprehend this difficult ailment.
Doug got family support throughout this difficult time. Doug’s objective was embodied in his “Angels” (Visiting Angels of Plainfield) care and support during his final days. Everyone loved Doug. He loved cigars, icy drinks, and his family.
We mourn and honor our founder. Visiting Angels of Plainfield upholds Doug’s compassion and caring under Pat’s leadership.
Doug’s memorial service will be announced soon. During this terrible moment, your presence will comfort us all.
Thank you for joining Visiting Angels of Plainfield. We appreciate your love and support as we traverse this difficult period and resolve to commemorate Doug’s spirit by continuing his purpose with unshakable commitment.
