Deborah Goncalves Obituary,  Death – On June 6, 2023, Deborah Ann Goncalves, 66, died quietly at her home. Deb Dixon was born on October 28, 1956, to J.D. and Geraldine (Sneed) Dixon in Merced, California. She completed her education in California, earning her high school diploma from Merced in 1974. On July 13, 1974, she wed Michael Louis Goncalves in Reno, Nevada.

John, Robert, and Matt, the couple’s three boys, were a blessing. The family remained in Merced, where Deb worked for a school district with more than 12,000 pupils and Mike was a firefighter/paramedic. She was given a Hodgkin’s lymphoma diagnosis in 1988. After a difficult beginning with her initial physician, she obtained the best care at Stanford University.

The family relocated to Wyoming in 1990. She was able to take pleasure in solitude on the Gooseberry property. Not only did this cheer her up, but it was also the best medical treatment for her. She started working for Washakie Medical Center at this time. Her final post was as a guest services administrator. Her health eventually pushed her into an early retirement. She provided excellent care for the patients’ out-of-door requirements, including taking care of their pets and watering their plants.

Through her time there, Deb gained friends for life, some of whom would check up on her every year when they passed through town. The family relocated to West River Road in 1997, where they remained up until her passing. Mike assured Deb he would take care of her when her health deteriorated. As he provided for her basic necessities, he transformed into her everything, and their love showed through it all.
