Dantis Evins Obituary, Death – On Thursday, the Little Rock Police Department released the name of the guy who was fatally shot in an apartment complex late the previous Monday. The department also stated that a prosecutor was determining whether or not the killing was warranted.

According to a police report, Dantis Evins, who was 30 years old and from Little Rock, passed away at a local hospital. At approximately 11 p.m. on Monday, police officers responded to a complaint of a shooting at the Fair Oaks Apartments, located at 9600 W. 36th St. in Little Rock. The location is approximately 3 miles south-southeast of the junction of Interstates 430 and 630. Officers found two victims of gunshot wounds, one being Evins and the other being a lad of 17 years old.

Both victims were transported to a local hospital, but Evins did not survive his injuries and passed away there. Little Rock resident Antonio Holden, age 32, was named as a suspect by detectives investigating the shootings. According to the police, the investigation file is currently being reviewed by a prosecutor who will decide whether or not criminal charges will be brought against Holden based on whether or not the shooting was justified.

Holden was taken into custody due to previous charges that were unconnected to this incident. According to the inmate list that was available online, he was being held in the Pulaski County jail on those counts on Thursday. According to the report, the two male suspects called the apartment complex their home. Mark Edwards, a spokesman for the police department, stated that he was unable to provide any information concerning the events leading up to the shooting.
