Chris Jones Obituary, Chris Jones Has Passed Away

Chris Jones Obituary, Death – Chris Jones held a special place in our hearts, almost like a son to us, alongside our own children. We had big dreams and high hopes for him. Our plan was for him and Danny to establish a successful bucking horse business in Mississippi. They envisioned traveling across the country, enjoying the rodeo events, and reaping the rewards of their hard work.

Chris became a part of our lives when he joined the Sul Ross Rodeo Team in Alpine, Texas. He was a fun-loving individual with a contagious laugh that was truly unique. He and Lynette Quiroga were the best of friends, enjoying rounds of golf together. He affectionately earned the nickname “Uncle Peanut” from my grandchildren, while he lovingly referred to us as Momma and Dad. Chris lived with us for several months, and every time he returned home, he would stay with us. While attending college in Alpine, he also worked at the Gringo.

Although he eventually moved away, Chris was never truly absent from our lives. He was like a son to me, and he relished challenging anyone who questioned our bond in these parts. Chris remained in regular contact with Lynette and me, and we were expecting to see him a couple of weeks ago. Unfortunately, he couldn’t make it due to his grandfather’s heart attack. Concern grew when his mother reported him missing after not hearing from him since June 1st. Yesterday evening, we received the devastating news that our fears were confirmed—Chris has left us.

We are utterly shattered and filled with sorrow. Lynette is particularly devastated, and my heart feels a void the size of Texas without Chris. Rest peacefully on that mountain, dear son. Your work on Earth is complete. The cattle are fed, the horses are watered, and you have finally unsaddled for the last time.
