Calleigh McFadden Missing – On July 1, 1985, the Department of Public Safety developed a program with the objective of collecting, coordinating, and distributing information pertaining to missing individuals and unidentified body/persons. This program was a component of the Missing Person Information Clearinghouse, which was formed in order to collect, coordinate, and disseminate information. This initiative is a component of the National Clearinghouse for Information on Missing Persons.

Participants have had access to this program ever since it was established in 1985. Clearinghouse is the name of an extremely helpful resource that can be found within the Division of Criminal Investigation. This group’s aim is twofold: first, to aid in the location of missing persons by increasing public awareness and collaboration; second, to educate law enforcement personnel and the general public about the issues surrounding missing persons.
