Barbara LaCoax Obituary,  Death- Barbara LaCoax in 3:10 o’clock in the afternoon on Monday, May 22, 2023, Barbara G. LaCoax, age 86, died away in her home in Bunker Hill. She was the daughter of Harry E. and Viola Mae (Bates) Curry and was born in Alton on May 12, 1937. Her mother’s maiden name was Bates. Before taking early retirement, Barbara had worked for the Olin Corporation as a machinist for the previous 32 years.

She delighted in activities such as reading, watching television, playing bingo, and gambling with her daughter. She cherished the time she spent with her friends and family. She tied the knot with Max Wayne LaCoax on the 25th of December, 1953, in East Alton. On October 24, 1995, he passed away.

One daughter, Cheryl (Ronald) Williamson of Bunker Hill, six granddaughters, eight great grandchildren, and two sisters, Dorothy Brown of Warrenton, Missouri and Sharon Lawrence of Bunker Hill, are among the people who have carried on her legacy after her passing. She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, her two sons, Leslie Wayne LaCoax and Ronald Lee LaCoax, her daughter, Deborah LaCoax, and her two sisters, Delores Bechel and Kathleen Buchanan. Deborah LaCoax was the last surviving member of her family.

Rituals associated with her cremation were performed because it was what she had requested. On the 24th of June, 2023, at 10:00 in the morning, the Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be conducted at the Church of Christ in Alton. Rose Lawn Memory Gardens in Bethalto will serve as the location for the interment.
