Barbara Kline Obituary, Death – At the Good Shepherd Health Care Center on June 5th, 2023, Barbara J. Kline, formerly Smith, passed away. She was a resident of Mason City. At 10:30 in the morning on Monday, June 12, 2023, a Mass of Christian Burial will be held at the Epiphany Parish – Holy Family Catholic Church located at 722 N. Adams Ave. in Mason City, with the Reverend Jake Dunne serving as the celebrant.

After the funeral, burial will take place in the Elmwood St. Joseph Cemetery in Mason City. On Monday, the family of Barbara will meet and welcome friends at the church beginning at 9:30 am and continuing until the time of her service. Barbara’s birthday is October 7th, and she graduated from St. Joseph Catholic High School in Iowa City, where she was born. She was an employee at the Days Inn for a considerable amount of time. Barbara was devoted to her family, and she had a strong bond with both her mother and her sisters.

This was one of the most important aspects of her life. She raised Kathy, her daughter, and became a grandmother to three granddaughters, all of whom adored her. In addition, Barbara took great pride in her membership in the Eagles Lodge. She enjoyed spending time with her friends by participating in activities such as playing Bingo, doing puzzles, listening to music, and watching scary movies. Barbara had a soft spot in her heart for felines, especially her orange tabby cat named Bebe.

Barbara is survived by her daughter Kathy Foster, her grandchildren Leah Copic, Latrica Foster, and Katherine Olsen, and her great-grandchildren Michael, Jayme, TeyVion, La’Riyah, and DeVonte. She is also survived by her brother Patrick Smith, her nephew Mark Martin, and her great-nephew Marcus Martin, in addition to a large number of cherished friends and extended family members. Mary, Barbara’s mother, as well as her sisters Mary Martin and Patricia Smith, as well as her brother Austin James Smith, all passed away before Barbara.
