Arlis Hanson Obituary, Death – Arlis A. Hanson, who resided in Chippewa Falls and was 101 years old, passed away on Saturday, May 27, 2023 at the Chippewa Manor located in Chippewa Falls. Arlis Evert is the daughter of Felix Evert and Louise (Baier) Evert. She was born on April 16, 1922 in Eau Claire.

Arlis married Robert Cherrier on April 29, 1946, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Altoona. She then married John “Buck” Hanson on September 29, 1971, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in LaCrosse. Both weddings took place at St. Mary’s Catholic Church. She served as a Eucharistic minister to the sick and homebound as well as delivering Meals on Wheels while she was a member of St. Charles Church and the Catholic Women’s Club.

In addition to working as a bookkeeper at Eau Claire Sand & Gravel for seven and a half years, she volunteered for thirty-seven years at nursing homes in the surrounding area and served in the past as the secretary for St. Charles Church. Arlis is survived by one son, Jeff R. Cherrier of Marshfield; one daughter, Renee A. Cherrier of Fort Collins, CO; two stepsons,

John N. (Gail) Hanson of Washington D.C. and James A. Hanson of University Park, Fl, one stepdaughter, Kristen M. Koiles of Arcadia, CA; two grandchildren, Christopher P. Hanson and Elsie E. Hanson; and one great grandson, Brodie Hanson.Arlis was predeceased by her parents, one brother, Willard Evert, and two sisters, Corinne Brodt and Luella Evert. She was also preceded in death by both of her husbands, Robert Cherrier and John “Buck” Hanson; her son-in-law, Gerald Koiles; her daughters-in-law, Sally Cherrier and Patricia Hanson.

Her son-in-law, Gerald Koiles. On Thursday, June 15, at one o’clock in the afternoon, a Memorial Mass will be celebrated at St. Charles Church in Chippewa Falls. Calvary Cemetery in Chippewa Falls will be the location of the interment. On Thursday, June 15, visitors from the community are welcome to stop by the church from noon until the start of the services at 1 pm.
