Ann Battrell Obituary, Death – Ann Battrell, MSDH, who had served as the Chief Executive Officer of the American Dental Hygienists’ Association until the day before her death on June 7, 2023, had gone away. On behalf of everyone in the association, we would like to offer our deepest condolences to those all across the world who have suffered a terrible loss. Ann, in her role as a leader, exerted an extraordinary amount of effort to eradicate health care inequities, promote the dental hygiene profession, increase the scope of dental hygiene practice, and broaden patients’ access to dental care. In addition to this, she worked tirelessly toward the eradication of all forms of injustice.

Ann is someone who will be remembered by us forever as someone who was a pioneer in our business, a pioneer in the innovation of our sector, and an ardent supporter of the profession that we pursue. Her physical presence will be sorely missed, but the American Dental Hygiene Association (ADHA) will continue to utilize her legacy as a compass as we go into the next century of exploration, discovery, and creation as long as her spirit is still with us. The American Dental Hygienists’ Association (ADHA) is the nation’s largest and oldest organization that serves to represent the professional interests of dental hygienists. Its name comes from the Latin word for “dental hygienist.”

Because there are more than 226,000 dental hygienists working in the United States, this organization is the one that provides the most accurate representation of the field. A wide range of services, including educational, clinical, and therapeutic ones, are provided by certified dental hygienists. These services are provided with the intention of nurturing patients’ optimal oral health in order to promote patients’ overall health. They are regarded as experts in the realm of preventative care for the mouth and teeth.
