Anabelle Garay Obituary, Death –  According to a spokesperson of the Huron County Coroner’s Office, Linda Anabelle-Tammie Garay, age eight, of Greenwich, Ohio, passed away as a result of injuries sustained in a house fire on Saturday, June 3. On Wednesday, Dr. Jeffery Harwood provided definitive proof of the child’s identification.

Greenwich is located on the southwestern tip of Huron County, in close proximity to both Richland County and Ashland County. This incident is tragic and devastating to the involved family, community, and first responders,” stated Patrick Fox, chief of the Greenwich Police Department, in a news release that was issued on Monday.

An investigation has not yet been completed to determine what started the fire. The investigation is now being led by investigators from the Ohio State Fire Marshal’s Office. In an email sent out on Wednesday, the public information officer for the fire marshal’s office, Andy Ellinger, acknowledged that it is a matter that is currently being investigated by the office’s Fire and Explosion Investigation Bureau.

In the email, he stated that the precise reason for the fire could not be identified at this time. There are “no other details to share at this time.” An obituary that was placed on the website of Eastman Funeral Home states that Krista Lewis and Juan Garay are Linda’s parents.

The young girl was a bright beacon of love and hope who smiled constantly, hugged everyone she met, and enjoyed playing baseball and going to South Central Elementary School, where she had just finished the second grade. According to the obituary, she was a people person who had a passion for her brothers, animals, and the television show “Stranger Things.”
