
Allen Stockberger Obituary, Death – Gambier resident Allen D. Stockberger, who was 71 years old, passed away on June 4, 2023 at his home. In Newark, Ohio, on September 5th, 1951, he was welcomed into the world by parents Wayne and Lois Stockberger. Mount Vernon Hill Seventh Day Adventist Church was one of the churches that Allen attended regularly while he lived in Mount Vernon. Allen had spent his entire life working on farms. During his time as a student, he was active in the Future Farmers of America (FFA).
Twenty years were spent by Allen serving as the Commissioner for Knox County. In addition to that, he served the township for a long time as a trustee. He liked kayaking, canoeing and doing anything outside. John Deere was his preferred brand of tractor. Additionally, he worked as a school bus driver for East Knox Local Schools for a considerable amount of time. He held his time spent with his family, particularly his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren, in the highest regard.
Allen is survived by his wife, Deena (Millard) Stockberger; sons Joshua (Tonya) Stockberger of Gambier, OH and Jason (Sara) Topa of Park City, UT; 4 granddaughters; 1 great grandchild; a sister, Tonda Snoey of Ooltewah, TN; and a large number of relatives of Allen’s extended family. Allen’s parents, his wife Jane Stockberger, his sister Sue Gasperson, and his niece Tammy Hopkins all passed away before him. His wife also died before him.
The Mount Vernon Hill Seventh Day Adventist Church, located at 535 Wooster Road in Mount Vernon, Ohio 43050, will be hosting visitation hours on Monday, June 12, 2023 from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm. A funeral service will take place at one in the afternoon, and it will be followed by a service at the graveside in Mount Zion Cemetery in Gambier.
